Scottish Fire and Rescue Service Museum and Heritage Centre

Staffed by volunteers and only open once a month, we were fortunate that this was the last Sunday of the month. The gentlemen (ex-firefighters) were so willing to talk to us and show us around. Gramps would appreciate this museum.

Dumfries House

Confusingly not in Dumfries.

Woodroad Park

A wild parkup in town on the way to Dumfries house. Probably not where King Charles stayed whilst visiting Dumfries House recently.

Culzean Castle

One of the best National Trust (for Scotland) properties that I think we’ve visited. Passed down through generations of the Kennedy family, renovated and extended over the decades.

The Ranch

Our first campsite with a pool and we had a bonus movie night amongst the parkruns, many playtimes and laundry.

Dumfries and Galloway: the three smaller counties and Galloway Forest.

Prestwick Oval Junior parkrun

Parkruns are a little more sparse around Scotland but so far we have been able to get to one in each County. This one was just North or Ayr.
